Now because of these advances in technology and the products being available so cheaply, due to mass production in the Far East, RC electric helicopters can now far exceed the maneuverability and flight times of more traditional I.C RC helicopters. In the last 12 months there has been a massive influx of RC helicopters to the UK market, mainly from China and other Far East countries. The market is now saturated, and with new radio control helicopters being introduced all the time it is near impossible for a beginner or even the more experienced pilot to decide which electric helicopters would suit them best. Here at RC MODS we have seen them all, we have tested them all and we have chosen a product range that suits anyone from the beginner all the way up to the most advanced pilot. RC electric helicopters are very complex machines, some more than others and each one we stock has passed rigorous tests (usually involving many crashes) so that we can be confident we only sell the most reliable and robust electric RC helicopters on the market. Radio Control HelicoptersSo what do you need to consider before buying RC helicopters? The first and most important thing is the company you are purchasing from, are they legitimate, is there hidden costs such as VAT or are the electric helicopters drop shipped from China. What is drop shipping you ask…drop shipping is when a company based in the UK takes your order and payment and then your RC helicopter is shipped direct from the manufacturer in China. Drop shipping companies usually have quite cheap prices in comparison to companies like ourselves that hold stock in the UK. This is all good except you will have at least a two week wait and then you will have to pay VAT and import duty when your order enters the UK, bumping the price up quite considerably. The next thing you need to think about, you order your RC electric helicopter and it arrives, but it doesn’t work, does the company have a contact number? Beware of companies that only have email addresses, it’s very easy to ignore emails! The final important thing to look for is spare parts backup, when buying and flying radio control helicopters it is more than likely at some point you will crash it and you will need spares!
