All the talk in the movie world right now is of Bury born Danny Boyle and his Indian located movie Slumdog Millionaire, as the film swept the board at the Oscars last week. There are many other movies made in India though, as it has the second biggest film production industry in the world. One such movie is ‘Vaamanan’ which is due out in India in April, and is the first film by I.Ahmed.
The movie is an Indian action thriller which is set to become very successful on its release, but why is it relevant for radio controlled model enthusiasts? The reason is that Vaamanan features RC helicopters, and is believed to be the first movie shot in South India that features such technology.
No details have been released as to just how an RC helicopter features in the film, and whether it’s integral to the plot or whether it has just been used for filming. One thing is for sure, with the versatility of radio controlled helicopters, and with the advancements in technology that allow video cameras to be fitted to RC helicopters, however the RC model is used in the film, it’s sure to be exciting.
The movie has been shot in India, Bangkok, Malaysia and in Singapore.
