Arrma RC cars
By Paul Walsh Last reviewed
Arrma builds bashers: trucks and buggies made to be jumped, crashed and driven hard. It has a reputation for giving a lot of speed and toughness for the price.
Arrma in brief
Arrma started life in the UK, run from Ashby in Leicestershire as Arrma Durango Ltd, before being bought by Hobbico in January 2012 (Red RC). Horizon Hobby acquired Arrma, along with Axial, when it bought Hobbico's assets in 2018 (Horizon history).

Speed: the trap
Arrma's 3S and 6S BLX models are fast enough to break parts, and themselves, very quickly. They're brilliant second cars. For a first car, start with a brushed model, as explained in brushed vs brushless RC cars.
Spares
Because Arrma is part of Horizon Hobby, parts are widely available in the UK. Typical wear parts on bashers are driveshafts, suspension arms, wheel hexes and spur gears. RC car maintenance and RC car troubleshooting cover the common fixes.
How it compares
Against Traxxas, Arrma often gives more speed and size for the money; both are tough and well supported. Compare them in best RC cars for beginners.

Frequently asked questions
Is Arrma a British company?
Arrma started in the UK, run from Ashby in Leicestershire as Arrma Durango Ltd. It was bought by Hobbico in 2012, and Horizon Hobby took on Arrma when it acquired Hobbico's assets in 2018.
Which Arrma is best for a beginner?
The Granite 4X4 Mega 550 is a strong first choice: brushed, 4WD, about 30mph, with a battery included. The Gorgon is a cheaper 2WD option.
Arrma or Traxxas?
Both are tough and well supported. Arrma often gives more speed for the money; Traxxas has very wide parts availability. Either is a good first hobby-grade brand.
