Recent changes worth knowing

1 January 2026: Flyer ID now needed from 100g. Anyone flying a model aircraft of 100g or more outdoors now needs a free CAA Flyer ID, down from 250g. New UK class marks (UK0 to UK6) also started. See UK rules for RC models.
2026: BMFA receives its Article 16 authorisation for the year, with no significant changes for club flying. See joining an RC club.
27 March 2026: new airline rules on lithium power banks. Spare LiPos still go in cabin baggage only; see LiPo battery safety.
